Meihua Quan, also known as Meihuazhuang, is a style of Kung Fu that originated in late Ming Dynasty and became widely popular during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. It is the most popular form of boxing largely practised by the Shaolin Monks.
Meihua Quan has no single founder, it is characterized by five static positions intermixed with dynamic motion comprised of light rapid footwork and large flowing movements. With a simple expansive posture and built-in poise, Meihua Quan releases and strengthens the flow of energy to expand concentration of the mind. The basic training methods of Meihua Quan are simple and strong yet relaxed and highly adaptable.

Meihua Quan is now practiced by both young and old people around the world. Its four benefits are improved health, self-defense skills, helping with sickness and disease, and improved mental ability. Training in Meihua Quan includes the eighteen types of traditional weapons as well as rarely seen weapons. Masters of Mei Hua quan have a relaxed physical look and are free from rigidity in both thought and body postures.
